The Goat Breeds who produce Kashmiri Wool are called as Kashmiri Goats. The name is Kashmiri because these goats were first found in Kashmir. Kashmiri is also spelled as Cashmere. Today the Cashmere goats are found in Kashmir, Pakistan, Afghanistan, China, Mongolia, Tibet, India, Nepal, Australia, Iran, Turkey etc. An adult Kashmiri goat can produce up to 1.5 kg of Cashmere wool per year. The Kashmiri wool is used for making high quality shawls, coats, jackets, sweaters, jumpers, suits, trousers, pajamas, scarves, blankets, socks, gloves, hats, caps etc. Some of the different breeds of Kashmiri goats are:

1. Changthangi or Pashmina Goat.

2. Hexi Kashmiri Goat.

3. Alasan or Alashanzuoqi Kashmiri Goat.

4. Liaoning Cashmere Goat.

5. Arbus Goat.

6. Licheng Daqing Goat.

7. Australian Cashmere Goat.

8. Erlangshan Goat.

9. Zhongwei Kashmiri Goat.

10. Luliang Black Goat.

11. Wuzhumuqin Goat.

12. Hanshan Goat.

13. Tibetan Kashmiri Goat.
