The Angora Goats originated from Turkey are used for the wool they produce. The name Angora is derived from Ankara of Turkey. Nowadays these goats are found in Turkey, South Africa, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand and North America. Most of them are colored white but also found in different colors. They look like sheep but they are 100 percent pure goats. Angora goats are shorn two times a year and produce 4 to 5 kg wool per year. The wool produced by Angora goats is called Mohair. Mohair is a durable, crease and flame resistant, resilient, warm in winter and cool in summer, naturally elastic, light weight luxury fiber which is also nicknamed as the Diamond Fiber. It is used for making coats, suits, hats, sweaters, caps, carpets, socks, home furnishing etc. Angora bucks can weight up to 100 kg and does 80 kg. Does can give birth to triplets. Their milk is for the kids. These goats should be fed with nutritious food and kept in good environment.
