» The Toggenburg Goat
By Blogman Saturday, February 7, 2015
The Toggenburg Goat
Like Saanen and Oberhasli the Toggenburg goats are also from Switzerland. Most Toggenburg goats are colored from light grey to dark brown with white stripes on the head. Toggenburg male goats weight from 75 to 90 kg and females 60 to 75. Toggenburgs are the biggest rivals of Saanen goats in producing milk. They can usually produce up to 9 liters of milk per day which contains low butterfat. But one Toggenburg doe produced 14 liters a day and holds the Guinness Book of World Records title. So they are amazing animals. These goats can give up to 2 babies per year. The only problem with this breed is like Saanens they also suffer in hot weather.
